Planning cosmetic procedures close to home: pros and cons

I’m really torn about whether to have a procedure done near home or travel for it. One of my friends had her surgery in town and said it was super convenient—her mum helped with recovery, and everything felt low-stress. But another friend went abroad and saved a ton of money, even with flights and accommodation. I keep going back and forth on it. I did come across plastic surgery, and it seems like some clinics abroad really go out of their way to support UK patients. Still, the idea of being far from home after surgery makes me hesitate. Would love to hear how others decided.

I totally get being on the fence—I was too. It really comes down to what you’re more comfortable with. Staying local definitely makes recovery easier if you’ve got people nearby. But if you’re organised and the clinic provides good support, travelling isn’t as tough as it sounds. What helped me was being super honest with myself about how much help I’d need once I got home. Having a recovery plan is just as important as the procedure itself.
